Bang For The Buck!!

Sure this bike probably can’t compare to the more expensive bikes you get at the local bike store…HOWEVER, if your main use for this bike is commute, or the only surfaces you bike are on paved bike paths, trails with no more than 1-foot drops, then this bike will do the job to satisfaction. I am only getting into biking after many years of driving cars, so I’m still not 100% sure if I’m going to fall in love with this sport. Once I decide that I am really into this sport, and start going into the woods or mountains where I’ll be taking 5-foot drops, I will definitely get a $1000+ bike. But I digress. This bike feels very solid, and so far I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever and I ride it about 45 miles a week on the street and bumpy trails. Luckily, one of my engineering design projects in school have been on human-powered vehicles, giving me a chance to learn about the mechanics of bicycle components; so I am decent at tuning bikes, so that may attribute to why my bikes have had no problems like a loose handle bar. Don’t let the snobby mountain bikers, who worships their local bike shops and only buy $2000 bikes, steer you away from buying this bike. Use this bike to decide whether or not you really enjoy this sport, in the end you’ll be much happier!

Good overall Bike

I decided to review this bike since I saw little to no reviews for it. I got this bike a few days ago, and so far I am very pleased. Easy assembly, due to the fact that it comes partly assembled. If you are not too apt for putting things together, this may be a problem. When I first rode the bike, it was a great ride. For me, it was smooth and easy all the way through. I read somewhere that this bike is heavy, and I will have to admit that it is pretty heavy. It’s not something that should stop you from buying it, unless you have a problem lifting it when necessary.

I guess the only problems (if you want to call them that) with this bike are the sounds it makes. The suspension makes a creaking sound, doesn’t bother me at all. Also, the breaks make a sound when I use them but I am sure I can fix that.

So overall, this is a good bike, and I recommend it to anyone who is interested. I do not think you will be disappointed.

Great bike!

I bought this bike after many years of not cycling, in a bid to regain a level of fitness that I once had.
The bike is a good strong bike and with its 21 gears there is a gear for any situation, the fact it has the mud guards with it is a bonus it saves having to pay extra later on and they do the job well, nothing I hate more than the spray going up my back it makes it a chore rather than an enjoyable experience.
The weight of this bike is good for a full suspension bike as they are notoriously heavy; my son’s bike is a 24 inch wheeled bike for an 11 year old is noticeably heavier than this.
The only negative I have about the bike is the pedals! They are not a good quality pedal and mine cracked after just a few miles of hard cycling, so I would suggest a visit to a good cycle shop and a set of alloy pedals would be a good buy.
However, as I said this is the only fault that I have on this bike and for less than £100 it is well worth it.

Arrived very well packaged with every part wrapped up tight and tied to ensure no damage during transit. Sent with my trial of amazon prime and received in super quick time. Easy to set up with a fast release front tire. But be warned the instructions are a bit vaque and dont mention the mud guards but the bike is soo easy to put together you dont need to worry about it.

Pleased rider

Came promptly and in good shape.
Having some (remote) experience with bicycle assembly, getting it in riding shape was not too hard and the directions were good. The hard part was determining which directions went with the purchased model.
Riding has been a pleasure for this casual recreational rider.

Easy Biking

I like my cruiser! My husband assembled it and he had to do some minor adjusting on the gears, brakes, etc. He is very capable so my bike does great. I think I will replace the seat with a higher end model. It is OK and relatively comfortable, but I can see it won’t last for very long. I will also get a basket for small items. I like the look and the tires are cool. The price was right for an entry (”just see if I will use it”) bicycle. I am using it and liking it. Enjoy!

Good Bike — Packing Problems Solved

I got this bike and my husband put it together in less than 2 hours. No problems, but he’s kind of handy with things like that. It would have taken me longer, no doubt.
The insufficient packing mentioned in other reviews that resulted in dents and dings has been upgraded. The bicycle was packed in a not-so-sturdy box that was inside a nice sturdy box. With the double packing, someone would have to try hard to damage the contents.
The bike is a dream to ride; very comfortable. If you live where it’s extremely hilly, you might want more gears, but it’s perfect for the flat terrain where I live.
Oh, and it’s beautiful!!

A good cruiser bike for the price
I recently bougth this crusier bike. Putting the bike together was fairly easy, except in my case the front wheel rim was slightly bent (probably due to shipping) which added some trouble. I called the custumer service and within a week they shipped a new front wheel rim without any trouble or hassle. I quickly put on the new rim and tire. For the price the bike is great, it is very comfortable and easy to ride. My mother who hasn’t ridden a bike in several years took a 2 mile ride on it and was very pleased. Great bike for the beach.

Finding the Right Bike
To really enjoy cycling, it’s important to find a bicycle that works for you. Here are some things to keep in mind when you’re in the market for a new bike:

The Right Ride
In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

Road and Racing Bikes–As a general rule, road and racing are built for speed and longer distances on paved surfaces. Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.

Mountain Bikes–With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike–even one that you use regularly on trails–adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.

Comfort/Cruiser Bikes–For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. With a super-relaxed riding position, padded seats, and limited or no gearing, these bikes are made for enjoying the scenery and having fun with the family.

The Right Price
A bike’s price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

Stand-over Height–To find out if a bike’s overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you’ll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you’ll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.

Top Tube Length–You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike’s posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.

Bikes for Women–Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women’s bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

Awesome bike

This bike is an excellent buy, for the money. Free 2 day shipping? You can’t beat that. Arrived on time. Assembly was fairly easy. Bike Rides Smoothly and is very fast. I’d recommend you get a better seat for it though, because the one that comes with it is very stiff and uncomfortable. I’d recommend the “Schwinn No Pressure” seat its on 13.99 , and its very soft and comfortable.

Cruiser 7Speed

This bike is perfect for someone re-entering the bicycle world. The handle bars are comfortable and you are able to sit up straight. The gears shift with a slight turn of the right hand. The bicycle, however arrived with a large scratch and no seat. I had to purchase a cruiser seat at my local bike shop, which Amazon gladly refunded the cost. If you want a bike to cruise around your neighborhood, this is it!

Great ride for the money.

For $150 plus free shipping, you can’t go wrong with this bike. What a deal! I love it, it’s a really great bike. I would have given it 5 stars, except it does have a few (minor) bad points:

1) The seat is HARD and I found that the forward edges cut into the backs of my thighs. I had to replace the seat with an ergonomically designed-for-women seat.

2) I’m not a big girl (5′5″), but I felt like the seat was too close to the handlebars. I had a hell of a time adjusting it. I finally solved the problem by reversing the socket under the seat.

3) It was VERY hard to fit a rack on the back. I bought one of those “universal” racks, and I really had to fiddle with it to make it fit, including going to the hardware store and buying new bolts. The little holes on the bike where you are supposed to attach the supports for the rack are bigger than the standard bolts that come with a rack. Very inconvenient.

4) The paint was dinged up on the frame.

All in all, tho, I really like the bike and would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap, sturdy ride.

Great Bike! Terrible Seat!!

For the price (and the free shipping!) this bike is a great deal. Very classic looking beach cruiser that rides well. Some other reviews complained of the bike being damaged in shipping. Thankfully, I didn’t have this problem, even though it was shipped all the way to Alaska. I did take note of many reviews complaining about the seat, and boy were they right!! The seat it comes with is absolutely terrible. After my first 15 minute ride last night, I awoke this morning with BRUISES on my BUTTOCKS!!! No exaggeration. I will most definitely be replacing the seat before I ride it again. Other than that, the bike is great and I highly recommend it! Just be prepared to shell out more money for a new seat!

Lazy Daze Comfort and Utility

I bought this bike for my wife, she loves it. When we went riding together she would poop out before we were really through for the day.

I put on an electric e-bike kit and created an Electric Bicycle.
Now we ride to our destination and she just cruses home.

I’m considering one for myself

I bought this bike as a gift for my mother. Even though it came completely wrapped in foam, it had some scratches like it was slighty used. It was also missing a part to attach the seat to the bike. (It arrives unassembled) We took the bike to a local bicycle shop and they were able to provide the missing part for free. My mom didn’t care about the scratches because they were so minor but I still felt as if it should have arrived in PERFECT condition. Other than that, it is a sturdy bike and my mom loves it.

Eyes for Cat Eye Vectra, October 19, 2008

Just recently purchased and began using this computer. I found it pretty easy to set up and install on my bike. Being wireless is a real bonus–no wires running everywhere that need to be zip-tied to the frame. Inexpensive and does exactly what I need it to do. Downsides? If you’re looking for a computer to keep track of cadence, this isn’t it. Also, it will take some getting used to determing which mode I’m in since the little tiny letters that tell you which is which is, well, tiny. I need reading glasses and don’t plan on wearing them when I cycle.

I can’t believe they actually make a cyclocomputer that doesn’t have elapsed time. Distance and time are the most important things. Anyway, set up was easy and it works great but without “time” it’s almost useless. So if you need “time” get the MC100W MICRO WIRELESS like I did,I is really good cylocomputer. The VECTRA is only good for a trainer.

Very Satisfied

A buddy of mine got a budget cyclocomputer from [...] for just under what I paid for the Cat Eye and it was difficult to setup and never worked properly. The Cat Eye Vectra was a breeze to setup and I had it working in just a few minutes. The sensor that goes on the fork is pretty adjustable and really easy to mount. The computer itself has an optional stem mount, which is perfect for me, because my handlebar is contoured. I used to have to drive my routes in my Jeep to see how Far I was riding, but having this cyclocomputer is so convenient. CONS: The instructions could be a little better, but its easy to figure out. The unit is not backlit so you night riders will have to use your helmet lights to see the screen. I would have ranked a 5, but 5=”Perfect. It doesn’t get any better”

Great Basic Bicycle Computer

I have used this Cat Eye Vectra Wireless Cyclocomputer for a couple of months on my Mountain Bike that I ride on both streets and trails and it has performed well.

The set up/installation was pretty straight forward and it only took me about 30 minutes. If you can read instructions you should have no issues with the installation.

If you are looking for just basic information than this piece of a equipment is a good choice. It provides the following information: MPH, Maximum MPH, Odometer, Trip Odometer, and a Clock.

I cannot comment on its durability or how it holds up to getting really wet as I have only used it for a couple of months at this point.
